He watched Emily take the final shot. She was understandably nervous.
He was surprised to see her sink the eight ball, but at the same time happy. "Holy Hell, she did it. Awesome!"
"Alright!" Atlas exclaimed excitedly. Two games won tonight. He was indeed excited.
However, he was not prepared for what happened next: Emily had hugged him. He didn't know what to do at first, but decided to hug her back.
"You did great Emily!" he replied back.
He turned to Charlotte and Tamika. "Good game. It was a close one. You both did good." he said to the two. "Let's have some drinks, shall we?"

Emily practically skipped to the bar still feeling great about their win. She congratulated herself for coming here tonight instead of just going home to catch up on City Lights. She hasn't had this much fun quite in awhile!
Luckily there were 4 empty stools side by side by the time she made it over to the bar. She sat down and saw that the others were still trailing behind by the pool tables.
Emily laughed and waved them over "Come on slow pokes! You know what you want? Their mozzarella sticks are quite tasty"

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Atlas replied.
He thought a bit about what happened before. He had never been hugged so spontaneously before. The feeling left him a bit odd, but also made him feel a bit warm inside. More than anything else, it made her feel like a human being to him rather than another stern cop in uniform.
He never had this much fun in one night since he came to Greenvale. "If I could do this with you more often, Emily, moving here might just have been a good idea after all..."

“On my way,” Charlotte replied, grabbing her glass and making her way over to the bar, picking a stool at random and taking a seat. “Think I’ll pass on the mozzarella sticks, though. Fried cheese is not my thing,” she added, making a face.
She was... surprised how much fun she’d had. Maybe this whole “getting to know people” thing wasn’t entirely horrible. All of the time, anyway. She took another drink, tracing a finger absentmindedly along the rim of the glass.

Emily turned and order some sticks for her, Tamika and Atlas.
"I'm surprised you passed them up Charlotte! I swear I could probably live off these! I wish wasn't so hopeless in the kitchen."
"So Charlotte and Tamika are you here for vacation or are you planning on staying here awhile?"

That’s a very good question, Charlotte thought. She stared into her Guinness, trying to figure out how best to answer, before glancing at her and smiling. “I’m... not sure. I only ended up here a few months ago. I’ve been doing a lot of travelling. I love exploring and seeing new places. But... I find myself really liking Greenvale.”
Maybe that means I’ve stayed too long... she mused silently. Maybe I should think about leaving. But Greenvale feels a little like... home.

Tamika thought she would be disappointed for losing, but after seeing Emily spontaneously hug Atticus, she couldn't help but be happy for her. She smirked slightly and followed everyone else to the bar.
"I'll pass on alcohol. I, uh, actually don't drink," Tamika told Emily embarrassed. "That is possibly the dumbest thing I could have told someone in a bar." Despite her currant embarrassment, she was surprised how much fun she had. The fear she had felt still lurked in the back of her mind, but currently Tamika was beginning to relax and actually enjoy herself.
At Emily's question, she wasn't sure how to respond. After a little bit of thought, she replied unsurely, "I'm sort of moving here, at least for awhile." "Though whether I'll stay," Tamika shrugged, "not sure yet." "People who ar-no SEEM dead and very creepy dark are a bit of a turnoff."

((Not sure how to wrap this up, Stewart is anxious to have DAY 1 stuff completed you guys have any ideas?))
Emily was pleased at Charlotte and Tamika's replies. Secretly she was hoping they would be in town awhile. It would be nice to have some girlfriends to talk to for a change. She's been a bit lonely ever since Jane moved to Seattle 6 months ago. Bullshitting with the guys at the department was hardly filling her social void. She could really see herself spending a lot of "girl time" with these two in the future.
"No worries Tamika, there are plenty here who don't and just come for the darts!"
The mozzarella sticks were quick to arrive and Emily handed Tamika one, "Here you go!"

Atlas eaten and enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and beer Emily got for them. "She spent quite a bit." he mused. "I should return the favor..."
He was addicted to the social atmosphere of the group. He never felt this way since any point in his life and was enjoying every minute. Unfortunately, it was getting late and the office would open tomorrow.
"It's been a pleasant evening, but I gotta head home. Charlotte, Tamika, have a pleasant evening." he said to the two redheads and then turned to Emily.
"I had fun tonight. I'm glad I met you. We should do this again sometime..."

At Atlas' suggestion of heading home made Emily take a look at her watch. Ouch! It was already 1am and she had to be to work by 8am sharp tomorrow.
"Wow didn't realize it was so late, but you know what they say time flies when you are having fun!" Grinning she continued, "We should definitely hang out again! I had fun hanging with all of you. Totally made my week and definitely took my mind off things..."
She pulled 3 business cards from her back pocket, wrote her personal email address on the backs and handed one to Atlas, Tamika and Charlotte.
"If any of you guys are up for hanging out another night give me a call or shoot me an email. I have to get my butt home and to bed or George will have my head for being half asleep tomorrow!" Emily finished with a wink.
With one last wave to her new friends Emily gathered her coat, purse and took her leave of SWERY65.

Before Atlas left, he had also given a business card to Emily, as well as to Charlotte and Tamika. His personal e-mail was written on the back of each. "If you ever need a lawyer, or just someone to drink beer with, feel free to call. Have a pleasant night."
He headed towards his car, got in and drove away. "Hope to see you again, Emily..." he thought.
