"I believe the new one in an Xbox360. Supposedly, they immersed them in some sort of liquid to test their durability." Atlas replied.
His eyes shifted towards the entrance of the bar as Emily continued talking. Two people had recently entered. He wouldn't have noticed if not for the fact that not only did they have red hair, but he met them earlier in the graveyard. "Ahh, my graveyard friends, Tamika and Charlotte. I wonder why the hawk man is not with them." he thought.
He suddenly turned his attention back to Emily. "Shoot, I spaced out." he thought.
"Heh, and usually I'm the one peppering others with questions." he laughed.
He saw Emily look over at an empty pool table with interest.
"Sure, I think I'll go for a game of pool." he said as he got up and took some quarters out of his pocket. "How are you feeling in terms of your Blood Alcohol. If you're up for another drink, the next round will be on the loser." he said.
Atlas placed four quarters in the coin slot, causing fifteen solid and striped balls to become available. He tried to remember how they were placed and began racking them.

As Charlotte started playing, she noticed a familiar redhead take a seat at a corner table. It’s a regular graveyard party in Swery65, isn’t it. She gave her a lopsided, somewhat friendly smile that she wasn’t sure Tamika could see, before lining up another shot.
Then the lawyer and the sheriff headed over to a nearby pool table. Oh joy. Just ignoring them for the time being, Charlotte paused to take a drink of Guinness. She set the glass aside and took another shot. The 9 ball sank into the corner pocket.

The graveyard party has turned to a pool party." Tamika watched as Atticus, Charlotte, and the cop played pool. Though at separate tables. The cop didn't seem very frightening. "Maybe not all people with badges are unpleasant. Though I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. For all I know she's a drunk who enjoys kicking puppies." Tamika doubted that the cop was that ill willed, but she still would keep her distance.
Noticing a small movement from Charlotte, Tamika turned her head. "Is she...smiling at me? Oookay, person who barely said four sentences to me is smiling at me. Whatever." Tamika gave Charlotte a small wave and pulled out her cell phone. "It's getting late. Maybe I should go back to the hotel soon." Yet the part of her that feared the dark earlier had gotten stronger. "Damnit, I swear I feel like that night is going to kill me as soon as I leave." She stayed in her seat and began to tap out the rhythm to Play Dead on the table while periodically glancing at the windows. "Ugh, I feel like I'm going insane."

She might not have spoken much to Tamika, but there was no sense in being completely unfriendly. Charlotte half-shrugged and returned her attention to the game of pool she was playing. After sinking a couple more balls, she paused to take a drink.
Play a couple games of pool, have another Guinness, and then it’ll probably be time to call it a night. It had been one hell of a day.
She held up her glass of Guinness, which was mostly empty. Bottom’s up. Quickly finishing the remaining stout, she headed to the bar to order that second Guinness. It didn’t take very long for her to get her order, and she made her way back to her table. Setting the glass down, she took up her pool cue again. Humming ‘Habenera’ from Bizet’s Carmen, Charlotte lined up another shot.

"You're on!"
As Atlas racked the balls and Emily began to idly chalked up her pool cue.
That's good he seems to know what he's doing, all I know is to not hit the 8 ball into the hole before the others. Something tells me I'll be getting the drinks yet again...
To her right she watched an attractive redhead sink several cue balls, drain the last of her Guinness and slowly limp her way to the bar for a refill.
Hmm I wonder what happened to her? It looks like her hip is bothering her...
As Emily followed the young woman's slow progress back to her pool table her attention was caught by a small figured seated by the window with bright red hair.
That's an unusual hair color around these parts, reminds me of freshman year back in Seattle...Man I wish I could pull something like that off now! Maybe not red though blue with pink tips! Yeah! Emily grinned just imagining the reactions she would probably if she walked into the Greenvale Sheriff Department with her hair like that. I can see it now the guys would probably die of laughter and I would give poor George a heart attack.
The young woman seemed rather nervous and kept glancing at her cell and back out the window. Maybe she's meeting a date? I hope she doesn't have to wait long Emily met the girl's eyes and gave her a a reassurigng smile Don't worry hun, they'll show soon I'm sure.
Though now that she thought about it she's seen quite a lot of new faces around town recently, Emily wondered if there was some kind of underground event going on...
"Atlas you know of any sort of big social event going down in Greenvale? Seems we have a lot of new face popping up around town recently"

As Atlas was racking up the balls, his mind had wandered a bit. "There are fifteen balls in pool. eight solid and seven striped. Yet, the Eight-Ball isn't really treated as either. Rather, it is the last ball to be sunk, either as a winning or losing condition. Why doesn't the 8-Ball look radically different from the other solids. Maybe, it's the only black ball or..." he snapped himself back into reality as Emily was watching Charlotte sink some pool balls in.
He looked over at Tamika in the corner. "She seems a bit lonely. Kind of like me on most nights here. I end up playing darts to try and beat the owner's high score or wash down dinner with some beers." he thought.
Emily had asked him an interesting question.
"Not that I'm aware of, unless it's national graveyard week or something where everyone has picnics in graveyards." he replied. "Perhaps Greenvale's tourist department got gung-ho all of the sudden."
"By the way, I had an idea. Want to challenge those two redheads over there to a 2 vs 2 game of Pool?" Atlas inquired.

Emily did a double take at Atlas' response "National Graveyard week? What makes you say that? I didn't realize it got that many visitors. As far as I knew it was really only the caretaker that went there."
Emily took another glance at the red head by the window, "As for playing pool on teams sounds fun!"
Lowering her voice to a whisper, "However I must warn you I don't really play the game." She gestured to the curly red head at the next table over, "I'm afraid if I'm your team it will only lead to a rather painful loss experience against the pro over there!"
Then she gestured to the front of the bar,"I also I think the one over there is waiting for someone, are you guys friends?"

"National Graveyard Week. In Mexico, they call it 'Dio de los muertos.' " Atlas replied. "Though now that I think about it, I doubt any of them were Mexican, and I'm pretty sure it's not the beginning of November."
Emily liked the idea of playing pool as a team, though warned that she was not very good. He whispered back in a reassuring voice. "It's alright, I'm in it for fun. Besides, I think you'd make a good teammate." he replied back.
"Actually, I just met those two today. In the graveyard as a matter of fact."
He walked up to Charlotte.
"Hello, Charlotte. I noticed you were played some pool earlier. Up for a game?"

Charlotte took a drink of Guinness and began to line up another shot. Before she could do so, Atticus approached her. She was a little surprised, truth be told. She’d thought he was busy playing the sheriff. I wonder what he's up to. She leaned on her pool cue and half-smiled at him.
“Hello, Atticus. I... think I might be amendable to a game. Though you have me at a disadvantage, already having a partner. Did you have someone in mind?"
I should probably introduce myself... So she limped over to the sheriff and held out her hand, offering her a friendly smile.
"Hi. I'm Charlotte Jacobs."

Emily smiled and took Charlotte's hand in a firm shake.
"Hi Charlotte! So nice to meet you, I'm Emily Wyatt. Deputy Sheriff around these parts."
Hesitating Emily continued, "Is your leg okay? I couldn't help but notice you are limping. Is there anything I can do?"

She certainly seems very friendly. And now I know her name.
“It’s nice to meet you, too.”
Emily’s asking about her injury incurred at the park was unexpected. It sort of caused a momentary freeze in Charlotte’s train of thought. It only took a second, however, and then it passed.
“I... it’s okay. I just took a bit of a fall earlier and it’s still bothering me. Thank you for the concern, though.”

"Actually, I was thinking Tamika could play alongside you." Atlas replied. "If she's interested, of course. I figure it'd be a good chance to get to know you two better."
He watched Emily and Charlotte introduce themselves to each other. While they did, he noticed Charlotte was limping. "I wonder what could have caused that?" he wondered.

Charlotte turned back to Atticus and grinned.
"If she agrees, then yes, I'm up for a game. It sounds like fun." And it did. It really did. She was a little surprised.
Apparently she was going to take another chance at this whole getting to know someone thing after all.

"Very well" Atlas responded. He walked over to Tamika, sitting in the corner alone.
"Hello, Tamika." he greeted her. "Are you interested in a 2 vs 2 game of pool with Charlotte, Emily and I?"

Tamika was a bit surprised when Atticus approached her. She thought that he, the cop, and Charlotte were going to play pool alone. "Well, it will give me something to take my mind off this damn dark."
"Sure, though I've never played pool before."
Tamika got up and went to the pool table Charlotte and Emily were at. "At least the cop has a name now."
