Time: Late Afternoon
To: Francis York Morgan
Emily smiled and waved at Ashlin as she got into her car. The thought of spending the evening with Ash was very exciting! She looked forward to dressing up and changing her routine just a bit! She wondered if anyone else she knew would be there...
She was pulling into the station parking lot when another great idea hit her! She should invite York! Poor guy was stuck in his hotel room doing paper work or something. He hasn't seen the Galaxy of Terror AND she could also show she didn't always look a fright all the time! Perfect!
Smiling Emily dialed his room at the Great Deer Yard. The phone rang several times and Emily hoped she wouldn't get his machine again...once was enough today thank you very much.

[Sounds of ominous music in background, water splashing]
[Loud sound of crumpling paper]
[Muffled] "-braham has his eyes closed, Zach. He never really wants to know what's going on, so I feel like half the time I should just make something up so he'll stop breathing down my neck. ...We'll talk about this later."
[Clearly] "FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan, Great Deer Yard Hotel, Greenvale, America, planet Earth. Who may I ask is calling?"
[Ominous background music continues]

"No no! I'm just using my regained dexterity to write up a Daily Report for the Chief, but I guess I'm cheating a little since technically the day doesn't end until midnight. Is something bothering you?"

"..oh! Yes! Er-no...nothing is bothering me I was just wondering if you would like to join Ashlin and I for dinner at the Galaxy of Terror tonight? It's probably not that fun staying in to write reports and I thought you might want to see Greenvale's 'nightlife' since you seemed very keen on knowing about it!" Emily laughs.

Emily paused. "Huh you've lost me? Why wouldn't Ashlin be up for a classy night out?" Also what does Robert Englund have to with anything...wait..." Emily laughed again, "York, Galaxy of Terror is the name of the lounge bar Thomas' sister owns! You are thinking of that movie..."

"Oh, that's a relief! For a moment I thought... Nothing, it doesn't matter. Classy sounds like a nice change of pace though, from what we were up to earlier. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more of the lighter side of Greenvale. As long as the food is up to par with what we had at the SWERY65 last time, I... [Muffled] What is it, Zach? ...Hang on, I'll ask her."
[Clearly] "If Ashlin is coming, is it safe to assume Bo-Bo will be accompanying her?"

Emily could have sworn she heard York say "Zach" again,
"Bo-Bo?" Emily paused,"uh...I assume she'll bring him? From what I gathered she likes to keep the doll with her...why? You aren't going to say something stupid about it and make her feel uncomfortable are you? Cause I'll have none of that! You have your own eccentricities York! Need I remind you of your mysterious Zach?? "

"No reason beyond the normal conventions of fraternizing. Why would I say something stupid, Emily? And these words you're using... 'Eccentric', 'mysterious'... I'm afraid I lost you. But, Zach and I will be looking forward to tonight. I'm not used to being invited to social functions."
[Long pause, in which can be heard the far-away sounds of screaming and more splashing]
"It's a good thing we're not going swimming, because I'm in the middle of watching Jaws and won't be venturing near water again for a week or so. Now, what to wear..."

Emily rolled her eyes at York's response and gave a wave to Linda as she made her way back into the office. When don't you say stupid and inappropriate things things York!
Ah HAH! He mentioned Zach again!
Emily grinned as she sat down at her desk and booted her computer. "Oh Zaaaaach is coming too is he?" Well then! I'll be eager to finally meet him!"
"Jaws eh? So that's what I'm hearing in the background! I haven't seen that movie in ages...But yes, don't worry we won't swim for quite awhile, the lakes are much to cold right now!"
"Though I can't say that stopped some people, Todd went swimming last week on a dare. He paid for it though and was ill for 3 days!" Emily laughed a little and continued, "Now about tonight, Galaxy of Terror is fancier than SWERY65! I wouldn't recommend coming in jeans and a t-shirt but I'm sure one of your suits will be just fine! I'm picking Ashlin up around 7 so we should be there by 7:15pm! When do you think you and Zach will be there?"

[Clearly] "Sorry, there was a tense part in the movie. Well, I don't think I've owned a pair of jeans since 1993, but I do have a few suits meant only for special occasions. I didn't think I'd be needing them, but I'm glad I brought them along... And 19:00 sounds perfect. There's only about half an hour left until the credits anyway."
[Pause]
"Oh... Something just occurred to me... Is everyone going stag or are we expected to bring escorts? You know, to keep up a pretense."

Emily bit her lip..." You don't have to bring anyone but if you met someone you wanted to bring as your date they are more than welcome to join us..."
When did York have time to pick up a lady?!

For example, you don't get any unwelcome comments when you wake up in the morning and realize you haven't shaved in a week. It's nothing but constant nagging from the peanut gallery, I tell you-"
[Muffled] "Ow! [Unclear] -need to shout, it was a joke. You're just proving my point."
[Clearly] "I have to get going now, but I'll see you at the appointed hour. And don't sound so alarmed; I won't be bringing anyone you haven't already met in some small fashion. It will be just the five... four of us. Good-bye! Now where were we..."
[Sounds of crumpling paper, background TV volume increases]
[Muffled] "-think he'll complain about wasting time on recreation? Maybe some judicious editin-"

"okay...see you then?" but unfortunately her goodbyes were only heard by the dial tone. After York's abrupt goodbye Emily stared at in confusion. What was he rambling on about anyway? Why was she the odd man out? Also four of us? Was he counting Bo-Bo as member of the group? She shook her head, he said the strangest things but after knowing him this long it didn't surprise her.
She smiled at John and started to go through her work email. She wondered what she should wear. She rarely had occasions to dress up so she was going to make the most out of this outing! She didn't have that much in the way of fancy attire but she did have that black evening gown. It seem much too fancy for the outing tonight though...but she soon remembered that she still had her mother's pink cocktail dress! Sure it was a little old fashion but she always wanted to wear it! Oh this night will be a lot of fun!
