Because writing character profiles are fun!
Name: Atticus "Atlas" Lasseter
Superhero Identity: The Truth
Alignment: Hero
Age:28
Gender: Male
Occupation/Skills: In this AU, Atlas is a public prosecutor. He is still his oddball self, and can seem like he does not take court seriously. However, he has a keen mind and can use this to his advantage, throwing his opponents off. Additionally, he has trump cards from his "The Truth" persona.
Superhero Skills: The Truth does not have any natural super powers: he relies mainly on his cunning and speed in order to gain the upper hand. Although The Truth mainly strikes from the shadows if need be and generally tries to avoid combat, he is proficient in hand to hand combat, moreso than the average person.
His main strength lies in his gear. His main gadget is the monocular that conceals part of his face. It has four vision modes: Normal Vision, Night Vision, Thermal Vision and EMF Vision. It can also be used to zoom in on far off areas in the distance as well as link up to a PDA to provide wireless hacking capabilities as well as photo taking capabilities.
He also uses two specially modified firearms. One is a pistol, that uses less than lethal ammunition. The pistol itself is equipped with a device that can temporarily short out electrical devices.
His second firearm is a grappling hook pistol. The pistol itself can be attached to his body, allowing him to stay suspended in the air.
He carries a variety of other gadgets as well, including a microphone, smoke, emp and gas grenades and a PDA, attached to his wrist.
His final gadget is a special backpack, which can carry his gear. What makes it special is that it can foil any form of electronic scanning, allowing him to get through security checkpoints.
Appearance: Atlas is a athletically built, light skinned individual of average height and weight (about 5’10 and 180lbs). He has brown, curly hair that remains about neck length and sometimes approaches a mini-afro. He has small green eyes below thin brown eyebrows. Much of his overall facial features form a baby face and he still gets carded at bars and liquor stores (much to his annoyance). He has little in the way of facial hair save for a bit around his chin and a small mustache, the latter of which is shaved off. His face does not necessarily respond to his emotions and can be difficult to read.
His regular wardrobe varies. He always wears a nice pressed bluish grey suit and tie for court, though outside, it becomes a different story. He’ll often leave his dress shirt untucked, tie his blazer around his waist when it gets warm, roll up the sleeves of his dress shirt or even wear his tie over a t-shirt. He only cares about his appearance when it matters.
Superhero Appearance: The Truth dresses in a black bodysuit with combat boots, armor and full finger tactical gloves. Many of his gadgets are within pockets on his vest and he keeps his pistol and grappeling hook. His face is concealed by a face mask and a monocular that provides various kinds of vision.

Personality: Although Atlas has a sharp mind, he is an oddball, especially in social situations. His idiosyncrasies, including making inappropriate comments during serious situations, not always being tactful, and not being fully aware of social cues causes people meeting him for the first time to be offput. Although he is not malicious by any means and is a well-meaning person, he does not understand the phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."
However, he is a cunning individual with an attention for detail. He can take facts given to him and then use them to construct several different scenarios, and then go through them until reaching the one that makes the most sense. He is also aware of his odd nature and can play it up at times to use to his advantage. Although people who know him for any given length of time will know when he's playing his eccentricity up, it works wonder against people in court.
In this AU, Atlas has a strong desire to make sure the truth is known, even more so than his regular persona.
History: Atlas spent a lot of his childhood to himself. Although he was raised by a loving family in a nice neighborhood, he found himself having trouble interacting with other kids, who would consider him a "freak" and a "loser". He preferred spending his time watching movies and reading books as opposed to hanging out with his friends. His favorite book and movie were To Kill a Mockingbird and he would often quote it in conversations with his friends.
However, this branches off in the AU. Atlas comes home one night, only to find a mob boss talking to his father. From a hiding place, he plainly see the boss killing his father. However, he uses his influence in court in order to weasel out of a conviction. This left an impact on the young boy: how could this bad man not be punished for his actions.
Although his mother was distraught by this, she did her best to comfort the young boy. Even in his teenage years, where he vocalized a desire for revenge and bloodshed, his mother had dissuaded him, convincing him that the man would only become a martyr, and that as long as that man was the murderer, there would be a way to prove it.
Atlas decided to become a public prosecutor, in order to make sure that the guilty would get the justice they deserve. However, he also had a business on the side: sneaking around and finding evidence of dirty dealings, whether it be mobsters, corrupt businessman and politicians, or others who would be above the law. He had branded himself "The Truth" and dedicated himself to finding out the truth behind these dealings.
Although he started small, he used much of the money he made as a prosecutor to purchase and create new gear, allowing him to tackle bigger suspects.
