Time: Day 3, Afternoon Weather: Cloudy Warnings: TODD, Emily cries? George glaring Characters: Emily Wyatt, George Woodman, and a little Todd Thorne [CLOSED]
Emily smiled when she read Kevin's email, she couldn't wait to see him. Especially after the morning she's had. Emily sighed, she was so embarrassed that she almost lost it at the autopsy this morning! She shivered, poor Anna she hoped they could catch this tongue biting psycho soon. At least it didn't seem like Agent York noticed her lack of professionalism at least he didn't mention anything on the way back.
She wondered how this investigation would go now with York in charge. She knew George wasn't thrilled, and heck even she was a little peeved on how quickly things had changed...But still she knew it would be a great opportunity to see first hand how the FBI handles investigations. In the meantime she just hoped she could keep George from strangling the man.
York was sure good at getting under George's skin...
She spun in her chair a bit eager for time to move faster unfortunately her wishing didn't do much as she still had at least four hours. After the autopsy George said he had things he had to take care of so Emily had gone alone to Lysander's to ask him if he fixed or seen any rust bucket cars recently.
It took awhile and she had to sit through two tales from his Vietnam days but she was able to get a confirmed "no" from him. So now here she was waiting on George to return so she could tell him her findings.
She was on chair spin number five when her momentum was stopped suddenly by someone grabbing the back of her chair. Annoyed she looked up into the face of a grinning Todd Thorne.
Oh goody, it was Todd.

"Hey Em! So how was the big autopsy. Did I miss anything cool?"
Emily only frowned and tried to roll her desk chair out of Todd's grip. In response Todd tightened his grip and leaned over and loomed over her slouched form.
"Aw come on it's not like you are busy you were just spinning in your chair. I doubt George asked you to do that while he was gone."
When she still didn't answer he shrugged, let go and jumped onto John O's desk. He reached over and snatched Thomas' home made cookie off a napkin by Emily's computer. He knew it was Thomas' because they actually looked like cookies and Steven told him he heard Thomas had brought some in.
Emily gave a sharp protest and said something about how she was "saving the cookie for later" and called then him a jerk. Todd just smiled, Emily sure was cute when she was mad. Which was a good thing because she seemed to always be mad about something around him...
Well it was too late anyway as half of the cookie was crammed into his mouth. He tried giving it back by spitting it into his hand but this action only increased Emily's ire and he was called "disgusting!" for the effort.
Hey he tried. Right?

George returned to the police station a little bit after Emily return. He had a couple of errands to run as well as take a quick look at the crime scene. He had sworn that he saw an extra pair of footprints that weren't there before, but couldn't figure out who they belonged to. Though it was mentioned before by Atlas, George was not listening. Hopefully, he'd get a better look tomorrow. In any case, he wanted to find out what Emily learned concerning rusty cars.
What Morgan was doing was still a mystery to the man. George had wanted to do the investigation of the crime scene today, but Morgan insisted he had things to do. First the man takes charge and then puts the investigation on hold for R&R? If Morgan wasn't a federal agent, George would have this man run out of town.
He entered the lobby of the Sheriff's Department. Along the way back to his office, he found Emily. "Ahh, there you are. Were you able to find out anything from Lysander?" he asked.

Emily smacked Todd on the leg. Bastard ate her last homemade Thomas cookie!
"God TODD you are so disgusting, why the hell would I want it back now!" She leaned over to hit him again when George's greeting startled her.
"George!" Emily jumped out of her seat, shot Todd another dirty look who was rubbing his arm with a mouthful of her cookie and walked over to the Sheriff.
"Unfortunately not much, he's never seen a rusty car like the one Agent Henning described last night." Emily sighed and threw up her hands, "Looks like we are back to square one with our homicidal driver. I guess the next step is to post some sort of bulletin and have people keep an eye out for it?"

George slightly rolled his eyes at Emily and Todd's fighting. "I swear, some days I feel less like the Sheriff and more like a babysitter." he thought.
He was disappointed that Emily didn't find out anything about the mysterious rusty car. He put his hands on his hips and used one to lower the brim of his Stetson. "Well, that's all we can do. For all we know, whoever that guy was is probably far from Greenvale." he sighed.
"Actually, we'll need to do more than notify the rest of Greenvale. This guy could be anywhere and strike anyone. We'll need to notify the other police and sheriff's departments in Washington State, perhaps even in neighboring states." he said, "Todd, I want you to contact all of the sheriff and police Departments from the Adams Country to the King County. Emily, I want you to do the rest. Give them the description of the vehicle as well as the driver."

Todd swallowed the last bit of Thomas' delicious cookie. He then smiled stood and said, "Right-o boss!" He pulled out John O's desk chair and sat down glad to be doing something of real importance today.
It was only when his hand was posed over the phone to did Todd realize that he had absolutely no idea what he was supposed to be informing anyone about.
After George walked into his office Todd whispered, "Umm Emily what am I supposed to warn them about?"

Emily sat down and began to look for her police notepad she had with her last night. Where was it? She knew she had it with her at the autopsy but had realized she left in on her desk in her rush to get to Lysander's. It was a good thing the man didn't have that much of importance to say regarding the rusty car...
Seriously the amount of things she was misplacing lately was ridiculous. Just last week she lost a brand new tube of watermelon chap stick and a pen with the cute puppy topper. She thought maybe Thomas accidentally picked them up by mistake since they had similar tastes in that regard but he didn't know what she was talking about. When she questioned Steven, John and Todd if they took them they only gave her weird looks. Todd's question about what he was supposed to say halted her current search.
"Oh! That's right you weren't there last night and we didn't have our usual staff meeting this morning due to Agent York..."
Emily pulled a legal pad from her desk drawer and wrote out all the pertinent information that Henning had said last night.
-Homicidal driver on the loose -Assumed to a male with dark colored vehicle but we don't have a model or license plate -Only identifying marks on the car are rusty side panels -Car appears as if it shouldn't have been able to run
She handed Todd the list and said, "I know it's not much to go on, but I'm sure that with such a reckless driver in driving such a rust bucket it would be bound to catch someone's attention."
Within 20 minutes she and Todd were able to go through the entire list of Washington departments.
Todd was super eager to let George know they were done with their task so Emily allowed him the honors of telling him. She tried not to laugh when a nervous Todd knocked on George's office door.

George had spent much of the time in his office looking at and responding to e-mails and messages that other officers had sent to him. Even with Anna's murder at the forefront, Greenvale did not stop for that, and he needed to remain on top of everything.
Around twenty minutes in, he heard a knock on his door. "That was fast." he thought. He got up to see who it was. He opened the door to reveal Todd.
"Yes Todd? Were you able to contact everyone?" George asked.

Todd gave a big smile. "Yes sir! Em' and I got through the entire list!"
In the background Emily was silently laughing over Todd's enthusiasm for completing their assignment. But Todd didn't seem to notice he was just so pleased to be helping out on something important for the boss.
"Is there anything else you need me Er I mean us to do for you?"

George nodded in approval that Todd and Emily managed to get the task gone. "Good work, Todd." he said to him.
"Could you fetch Emily for me. I need to talk to her about something. In private." George requested.
He had wanted to talk about the autopsy that day and her encouragement of Morgan's antics. It was bad enough he was making a mockery of law enforcement, he didn't need someone else to cheer him on for it.

Todd was disappointed George didn't have any further tasks for him but cheerily went to go fetch Emily after George returned into his office. She was was actively searching her desk for something.
With a smirk and a tap on the shoulder he said "Hey Em' the big guy wants to discuss something with you in private. Whatever you are looking for will have to wait!"

Emily had resumed her search for her lost police notepad while Todd spoke with George. It didn't seem to be anywhere! Was there a black hole in the department she wasn't aware of? So annoying.
It couldn't have gone far. Seriously what the hell!
Todd's shoulder tap got her attention, "George wants to talk with me? Okay thanks!" She walked over to George's open office, knocked on the door jam, and said with a smile "What's up George?"

George began pacing around his office, gesturing as he spoke. "Now, you understand Agent Morgan is a guest, right?" he asked her.
"Even though we provide our guests with good hospitality, we expect that our guests do not abuse it. Unfortunately, Agent Morgan does not understand that. He seems to think that this investigation is nothing more than some sort of comedy act and is waiting for us to reveal that Anna is really alive offstage."
His expression began to become a bit angrier. "The reason I called you in here is because you've been encouraging him to continue. I've tried to let the man know that his behavior is not welcome, but you seem to be spurring him on. Do you enjoy making a mockery out of my authority? WELL, DO YOU!?" he yelled.

Emily closed the office door as she stepped into George's office and took a seat in front of his large and trophy littered mahogany desk. She sat back and watched George pace. The man seemed agitated and Emily figured it was finally hitting him that the FBI was now in charge of the murder investigation.
She began to answer George's first question, "Yes Agent York's methods are strange but-" but was cut off by George's sudden angry expression. Apparently he wasn't done so she bit back the rest of her answer.
His sudden anger and outburst startled her.
A mockery? I've done no such thing!
Emily's narrowed her eyes and prayed Todd wasn't listening in. With how loud George was a minute ago she was sure he was back by the door by now. The Sheriff loomed over her and waited for her response. For a moment it looked like he wanted to throttle her. But she recognized and intimidating move when she saw one. This sort of scare tactic might have worked any other day but right now she was so fucking tired of the games! George was acting like a petulant child right now! So she stood and with her hands on her hips said in a controlled and even tone, "I've done no such thing sir."
With that said, she stepped forward into George's "personal space" and gave George a mean glare of her own. "If anything I've been trying my best to help! I don't know about you but I would like to the FBI to think, no matter how strange their investigation methods are, that the Greenvale SD is not just some backwater police force unwilling or unable to keep up with the FBI! I want this murder solved and the culprit caught. Now if that means humoring Agent York's quirks...well I'm willing to do it."
George appeared like he would try and cut her off so Emily steamrolled him and raised her own voice. Who cares if Todd heard them now!
"STONE WALLING HIM WILL GET US NO WHERE GEORGE!" She threw up her hands and then pleaded, "It's best to put aside our differences with him NOW and START WORKING TOGETHER instead OF AGAINST HIM. Especially now that FBI has control of the investigation!" She blew out a sigh and it was forceful enough to ruffle some of her bangs. Her hands continually clenched and unclenched into fists as she was undecided if she wanted to physically knock some sense into George or cry angry tears of frustration.
Mentally she cursed herself for being such a stereotype, the overemotional female in this partnership. It had to be the lack of sleep, she wasn't this pathetic normally...

George hadn't expected Emily to stand her ground. Normally, when he raised his voice, people listened. Sure, there were sometimes teenage punks or drunk individuals who would give him lip, but those were easy to deal with. Not Emily though, she was looking to challenge him. He was ready, however, to put her in her place.
"I want this murderer caught too, though at the rate Agent Morgan is conducting this investigation, the murderer would be able to flee to Red China!" he yelled.
Finally, she raised her voice as high as him. George's mind grinned. "Feisty, huh. That's how I like 'em." he thought, though his face remained angry. He had his own comeback.
"Maybe the FBI has control of the investigation, but around here, you STILL ANSWER TO ME! PERHAPS I SHOULD PUT TODD ON THE INVESTIGATION INSTEAD OF YOU. EITHER KEEP AGENT MORGAN IN LINE OR I'M GETTING SOMEONE WHO CAN TO REPLACE YOU! NOW GET OUT!" he roared, pointing at the door in a commanding pose. He wanted nothing else to do with her today.
