Name: Dr. Bradley Karrde Smith
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Place of Residence: Deer Yard Hotel
Type of Car:
License Plate: ALLONSY
Occupation/Skills: Brad's current occupation is that of a drifter. His insatiable curiosity has him moving from one place to another on a fairly regular basis. A child prodigy, he is extremely intelligent. Due to his financial backing, Brad chose to be a lifetime student, and after spending nearly fifteen years in college, holds two Ph. Ds and a handful of Masters degrees.
Appearance:
Six-foot-one, medium build with dark curly hair and hazel eyes. Speaks with a slight English dialect due to his years at Oxford.
Personality: As a child, Brad was best described as precocious. As an adult, that description is still accurate. Sharp-witted, sometimes sharp-tongued, and uninhibited, Brad often finds himself the center of attention wherever he goes. However, that can be a double-edged sword, as his lack of inhibition and curiosity can lead him into the thick of trouble.
Brad is a stern diplomat, preferring to use his wit to work out of problems and only using violence as an absolute last resort. A natural protector, he tends to take this nobility to the extreme, and will often project this belief on others who might prefer a more violent method first.
History: Born into affluence, Brad was raised with 2 silver spoons in each hand. His father, Malcolm Smith, is the CEO of a major banking firm while his mother, Janet, is kin to the wealthy DuPont family. Upon learning that their son was a child prodigy, both were ecstatic but sadly, as young Bradley aged and his personality developed, it was pretty apparent that he was more different than they had first hoped.
He acted without consequence. Without inhibition. Without fear. A slew of psychologists confirmed time and time again that he wasn't a psychopath and that he clearly understood the difference between right and wrong. In fact, his conscience proved to be quite noble and self-sacrificing, but if there was something he wanted that would aid in doing good, or simply to satisfy his curiosity, there was little that could stop him. It was often by the good graces of his family's financial standing and his own innate charisma that Brad managed to maintain a clean criminal record, which otherwise would have been littered with trespassing charges.
When it became clear that Brad would not succeed his father as president of their company, and secretly to avoid any further besmirchment of their family reputation, Brad was given a limitless credit card and told to go out and see the world. And for the last 5 years, he's done exactly that.
RP Sample:
The cargo-laden motorcycle sped down the highway, kicking up a torrent of water from the rain-soaked road. With visibility in the rain as poor as it is, the rider was carefully making sure to obey the speed limit. While most drivers would be miserable in these conditions, Dr. Bradley Smith drove with a grin across his wet face. Even the Cheshire cat would have been hard-pressed to match this smile. It was a new place! Excitement! Adventure! All this and more possibly awaited.
"Greenvale. Fascinating!" as Brad started to recall in his mind the brief blurb he had read about the area recently. "A logging town, up until the late '90s at least. Then the industry went under. How truly sad."
Passing a wrought-iron fences supported by alabaster pillars caught his attention. "Ooo…what do we have here? Could be interesting." A quick mental note of the location was made as he continued towards his destination. Places like that always had the most intrigue. The tree cover made it difficult to see what was beyond the gate, but that's what made it fun and Brad knew that all too well.
Several minutes later, the turnoff for his destination neared. The Deer Yard Hotel was where he would be staying, partly because he enjoyed the name and partly because it was the only hotel that had been mentioned in the brochure he'd been reading. Wonderful views of the lake and mountains, private dock, and the free breakfast that had been advertised only sweetened the deal. A few minutes later, the bike gently rolled to a halt in the parking lot. He didn't really notice he wasn't actually in a parking spot, but the bike was out of the way and the lot was practically unoccupied anyhow.
"Well, this looks like the place. Pretty empty parking lot for such a large looking building though. Must be the offseason." he mused.
Grabbing a small duffel bag from the bike's cargo container, Brad hurriedly walked inside, not overly anxious to get out of the rain, but giddy to get inside to see what wonder awaited him.
