Time: Day 2, Morning
Weather: Raining
Warnings: None.
Characters: Emily Wyatt
Emily stifled a yawn. She stayed out a little too long last night at drinking and playing pool at SWERY 65 but the loss of sleep was definitely worth it since in the end made a couple of new friends.
Well if she was honest with herself she probably had a little too much fun, for a work night at least. George was none too pleased when she showed up 40 minutes late this morning due sleeping through her alarm.
You would have thought it was a daily occurrence with the way he was carrying on. Probably just uptight because the FBI Agent still hasn't arrived and he anxious to get this investigation started. Well that and that he still can't find "Archie?" or was it "Aaron?" Well...what ever his second dumbbell is called. Without it he can't "do his full work out routine" and everyone around here knows just how grumpy he gets when he's unable to do that.
She took another sip of coffee hoping the caffeine rush would kick in already. Listening to the pitter patter of the rain outside Emily her lids were drooping shut yet again and shook her head to clear the cobwebs.
The office was pretty dead with only her and one other officer seated at the computer terminals but really thanks to the rain the entire Sheriff department was pretty empty.
After all these years Emily still didn't get what the big deal Greenvale citizens had with the rain. It's the only place she knew of where April showers could frequently shut down an entire town. Small towns and their superstitions...
George was currently holed up in office with the door shut, brooding most likely. As for his right hand man Thomas, well he left grab something from the storage room 30 minutes ago and still hasn't returned. Emily had a hunch he fell asleep in there yet again. Bar-tending nightly at the Galaxy of Terror on top of his regular duties here was taking its toll on the guy. She didn't think he could could up this sort of schedule for much longer!
She was tempted to take a nap herself but really didn't want to risk getting further on George's bad side. Besides she had to stay alert in case the FBI Agent arrived. Word is he got a little lost on his way here but should arrive within the next day or so.
Emily wondered what sort of person Agent York Morgan would be. Hopefully he'll be just as friendly as that vacationing agent she met yesterday at A&G. It also wouldn't hurt if he was just as easy on the eyes as Henning!
Emily yawn and fought to keep her eyes open. That's it! If she sat here any longer the rain fall outside would lull her to sleep in no time. She had to get up and do something.
Stretching Emily slid back from her desk and stood and decided to and headed over to department storage room to rouse Thomas before George found him sleeping on the job!
