After several hours of sitting in the SWERY65 in paranoia, the bartender came and told her they were closing. Numbly, Tamika got out of her seat. The fear she felt early grew into this overwhelming sensation that something would kill her once she went outside. But she needed to leave eventually. The bartender asked if she was alright, obviously noticing her scared face. Tamika nodded, and then practically ran outside. "Best way to do anything scary and most likely deadly is quickly, right?"
Once she was outside, she pulled her switchblade out of her pocket. Tamika hated pulling it out in public, but her fear told her it was more than necessary. She then surveyed her surroundings. Only a few cars were left in the lot, since most people had left a few hours ago. For some reason though, she could see a few people milling about. This made her fear go insane, and she just wanted to run back into the safety of the bar. "No, it's closed now, and there is no way I am going to crawl back in there to beg the bartender for a lift." Slowly, Tamika began to make her way back to her car. She had just reached her car's passenger door, when one of the figures approached her. Tamika's mind panicked. "Jump in the car. Throw your knife at it. Hide. Scream. Do something but DON'T LET IT COME NEAR YOU!" Then she silenced her mind with a nervous chuckle. "Tamika, Tamika, Tamika. Your time on the run has made you way to paranoid. The figure is most likely someone from the bar and no one to be afraid of. Why, the figure is probably as normally as Brian who is PERFECTLY NORMAL!"
Throwing her screaming bad feelings to the wind, Tamika began to approach the strange figure. The strange figure was a young woman, probably about her age, wearing a floral dress. This sounds all well and good until you ad the dark stain that covered the dress and most of her arms. The woman's head was bowed and Tamika wondering if the woman was as scared as she was.
"Hello?" Tamika called to the woman,"Do you need any help?" Tamika continued to move closer to the woman until the woman suddenly turned around. Tamika wondered if she had offended the woman in some way, until the woman suddenly bent over backwards. The front half of the woman's body sway slightly after bending over, moving like as if her spine was made of jello. But this is not what caused Tamika to scream. It was the woman's face which had been previously shrouded by shadows and hair. Now Tamika saw that the woman's face had shadows literally pouring out of her eyes and mouth. A low moan came from the woman's mouth as she charged at Tamika with an impossible speed. Tamika's scream suddenly got muffled as the woman hand shot into Tamika's mouth.
For a few seconds, Tamika's mind went entirely blank. "None of this is real...none of this can be-" Her mind suddenly snapped back as the woman began to reach down Tamika's throat. Tamika then grabbed the woman's arm around forced it out of her mouth. Then woman was thrown back several inches, but was quickly rebounding to try again for Tamika's innards. Tamika's instincts then took over as Tamika brought her switchblade up and slashed across the woman's face. The wound spurt some purple liquid that Tamika would rather not think about. For a split second, the woman appeared to be seriously injured from the blow. Then, the wound disappeared into the mass of shadows that made the woman's face, and the woman once again came at Tamika. Panicked by the sudden recovery, Tamika frantically slashed at the woman's arms, face, and neck while slowly backing up to her car. Each blow quickly disappeared after being struck and Tamika began to fear there was no way to stop the shadow woman. When Tamika's back hit the window of the car, she knew she had nowhere to run. The shadow woman gave a loud moan and lunged at Tamika.
Time froze. Tamika was sure she would die. There was no way to kill the shadow woman. She just appeared to regenerate after each hit. "I'm going to die, and I never even got to find out how working at the Great Deer Yard would be like. I hope Polly will be able to handle all the work alone. I hope-" She then mentally slapped herself. "Are you going to go down without a fight? At least make sure this thing feels you long after you're gone." Clinging to the last bit of strength she had, Tamika gave one last long gash across the shadow woman's face.
Time unfroze and the shadow woman finished her lunge. To Tamika's great surprise, no hand went down her throat. Instead, the woman's face hit her square in the chest, splattering purple blood all over Tamika. The shadow woman then collapsed to the ground and slowly disappeared into the earth. At first Tamika had no idea what to do. She was about to die and then suddenly she's still alive. Then noticing a few other had taken interest in her, Tamika jumped in her car. Once in the safety of her car, Tamika fell back into the passenger seat. "I've survived one. Now just have to survive the rest until I get to the hotel. Then, in the morning, I'll get some answers." Climbing over to the drivers seat, Tamika pulled her car out of the SWERY65's lot and drove down the road, trying to not damage her car too much by hitting shadows.
