Name: Francis York Morgan
Occupation/Skills: Special Agent of the FBI. York's primary skill is serving as a criminal profiler and pattern recognition, two traits that have helped York become one of the FBI's top agents for investigating serial killers. York also has the ability to divine information and clues from coffee with uncanny accuracy. Whether this is caused by a latent ability of precognition or a manifestation of his subconscious psyche, an entity named "Zach" he often converses aloud with, is unclear.
Personality: Often considered cold and unemotional by his peers, York is truly that the stereotypical FBI agent. His sometimes disturbing lack of connection for both the victim and the associated brutality involved in his investigations of murder easily hide the fact that he does in fact care very deeply for the victims, often channeling that concern into motivation to find the culprit. This disconnected nature does however transfer over into his normal social interactions as well, showing with an apparent lack of tact in favor of honesty and a forgetfulness towards the general view on the grisly nature of the crimes he investigates. There are times, however, where he is capable of forgoing honesty in favor of sparing the feelings of a person he cares for.
History: Francis Zach Morgan was born to Brian Xander Morgan, himself an FBI agent and criminal profiler, and Valentine Morgan. His father was a tad tough on him, but his family was a very loving environment. That all ended one day when his father murdered his mother, then proceeded to take his own life while Zach looked on in horror. Watching this traumatic event unfold fractured Zach's psyche, causing the York personality to surface in place of Zach and blocking the true memories of what had occurred. In truth, Zach's father had not killed his mother. His mother had been infected by the red seeds and begged his father to kill her. However, his father could not bring himself to do it. In his regret of not purging his mother, Zach's father took his own life, instructing Zach to someday make sure that he did what his father could not. Following these events, York worked hard to follow in his father's footsteps in an effort to better understand the motives of his father that tragic day. Graduating from Columbia University with double majors in criminal justice and criminal psychology, magna cum laude, York proceeded to join the FBI. His standing as second in his graduating class at Quantico helped propel his career and within 5 years, had become one of the top FBI criminal profilers. Currently on the trail of a killer whose victims are found with red seeds in or near their bodies, York has arrived at the small lumber town of Greenvale, where the murder of Anna Graham looks to follow the same modus operandi…
RP Sample:
The rain pattered against the hotel room windows as evening fell. The arrhythmic thumping outside didn't disturb the concentration of the man working inside. What would have furrowed the brow of many an agent came naturally to York, who sat calmly reviewing the case file of the latest murder victim, Anna Graham.
"Our murder victim, Anna Graham. Age eighteen. Found tied to a tree by Isaac and Isaiah Ingram, young boys who were out walking with their grandfather, Jim Green. She had been disemboweled and her tongue removed."
York quickly thumbed through the files of the other victims of the killer he'd been trailing for roughly two years now.
"None of the other victims were ever presented with such elaboration. This time, the killer looks to have set her up in a manner of idolization. This was a girl that, unlike the previous ones, he didn't just kill, but worshipped her…"
A quick reach into his jacket pocket produced a pack of Heavy brand cigarettes. He'd been meaning to quit for years, but he found the smoking improved his concentration. It turns out that concentration was was a great asset in his line of work.
"Well Zach, I think we need to see the murder scene for ourselves first thing in the morning. Wouldn't you agree?"
A wry smile crossed the agent's face.
"Wouldn't it be great if we had a blood hound to help search for clues, Zach? It really wouldn't have to be a blood hound specifically, but any type of dog might be useful. I can see it being much like that movie, Turner and Hooch. Have you ever heard of that movie, Zach? It came out in the late eighties and starred Tom Hanks as a straight-laced cop who gets teamed with a rambunctious canine named Hooch. After much struggling, the two finally bond and Hooch helps Turner solve their case. In the climactic end fight, Hooch even takes a bullet for Turner."
