Time: Afternoon, Day 5 Weather: Rainy Warnings: RCK!Todd and a dumb Tamika Characters: Todd and Tamika
Tamika walked through the wooden doors that led into the Greenvale Sheriff's Department. Though her face was more or less calm, nervous thoughts ran through the petite redhead's mind as she surveyed the cops in the lobby and, in particular, their guns.
"Waay too many cops and guns here. Maybe I should just go see if I can catch Emily at the SWERY65 tonight. SWERY65 may be a bar, but at least it's not full of uniformed people and...guns. All I have to do is turn around and go back the way I came..."
For a second, Tamika almost did just that. Yet, she just shook those thoughts from her head. The cops would probably not do anything to her, as long as she gave them no reason to. Besides, she needed to make sure that Emily knew where the bone was from so it could be returned to it's proper place. And it wasn't like she had never been in a room full of armed men before...
Tamika looked at the faces of the cops in the lobby again. Unfortunately for her, none of them were Emily. Fortunately, she did recognize one of them from the SWERY65.
"It's that blonde guy I sang karaoke with. He seemed friendly enough before, though his face looks sort of irritated. Maybe he was just having a bad day."
Walking up to Todd, she gave him a kind smile, partially to appear friendly and partially to calm herself, and asked politely, "Hey Todd, is Emily here? I need to talk to her about a bone some little girl gave to her."

Todd turned and looked down at the petite redhead and grit his teeth at the mention of Emily's name. He could feel his sudden rage from this morning slowly returning. Emily was still on that disturbance call. How long did it take to question people? Todd guessed she was probably goofing off by now and leaving him to do the real police work. Bitch.
With a strained smile he said, "Bone, girl, what now?" Really he didn't have time for this sort of convoluted shit today.

Tamika crossed her arms, still nervous about the cops and a little annoyed that Todd didn't just give her simple yes or no so she could leave. She replied, still sounding polite, but with a slightly irritated tone,
"Look, you don't really have to worry about the details. Could you please just tell me where Emily is so I can talk to her about it? I'd rather not waste any of your or my time."

And now this one was giving him attitude. Jesus Christ what with the girls today? First Princess and now Red here.
Todd rolled his eyes, "You are already wasting my time Red can't you see I'm busy?" He wiggled a stack of police reports from 80's that he was holding. George had made him refile everything in the storage room for the "incident" this morning. He was just on his way back in there when Red here stopped him. It was not fun work at all and it pissed him off that Emily got off scott free and could be up to anything right now. She could be watching a movie and no one would know. Why the fuck was he the only one being punished again?!
"Look I don't know where your precious little Emily is," Todd sneered. "GOD why is it always about her anyway?" At this his voice raised a octave to mimic Tamika, "Todd where's Emily she's the obviously the only cop in a station full of them that can help me with my bone problem." He snorted, "Jesus, It's not like she does any real work around here anyway except mouth off and..."
...spread her legs at every opportunity
At this thought a dark look came over Todd's face. His eyes narrowed and he slammed the reports onto the reception desk (which was thankfully vacant at the moment) "I'm God damn sick of hearing her GOD DAMN name!"

"Definitely one hell of a bad day," Tamika thought as Todd angrily replied and proceeded to mock her. Her patience was quickly running thin, to the point where if he wasn't a cop and they weren't in a police station, she would have bitch-slapped him and left.
"Oh my God. Don't you have a therapist or someone else to bitch about Emily to? Why won't he just shut up and go back to his oh-so important work?"
Tamika was about to give a curt "thanks" and just leave, when he suddenly slammed the files on the reception desk, causing her to jump back a bit and instinctively reach toward her pocket where her switchblade was.
"Holy fuck, did she cheat on you with a hobo or something?!?" Her mind screamed at her that she definately shouldn't have yelled that and that she should just leave before things get worse, yet the rest of her wouldn't listen. All the rest of her could register was that this guy was a douche who was pissing her off.
"Also, maybe people go to Emily because she doesn't jump down people's throat's when they just ask a simple God damn question! Maybe if you tried not being an utter douchebag to people they would actually ask for you instead of her and wouldn't just leave you carrying some files that probably aren't even remotely important!"

Tamika's sudden outburst surprised Todd for a moment, looks like he has to deal with yet another continually mouthy bitch today. Wonderful.
A couple of his co workers gave Todd and Tamika a curious glance. John even started to walk over to find out what was happening, it wasn't everyday someone was yelling in the lobby...
Todd put up a hand and shook his head and John stopped halfway, "John I'll handle this go back to your work," He took Tamika's arm in a tight grip and began to pull her towards the locker room and said over his shoulder, "Thomas needs your help with his computer again, I don't know how he keeps breaking it."
As the others returned to their work Todd yanked open the door and threw Tamika forcefully into the small room onto one the the wooden benches. Once they were both inside Todd closed and locked the door and then physically blocked the exit. He didn't want her leaving before he had his full say and he sure as hell didn't want any more interruptions.
"For your information missy lots of people come to me for help, at least those with some intelligence do. Todd's eyes raked over Tamika's small form and he sadly shook his head, "But I can see I'm dealing with one of the slow ones here so I'll spell it out for you."
In leaned down and got right up in Tamika's irritated face and said in a low and harsh whisper, "I'm TEN TIMES the officer Wyatt is and the entire department knows it too. She may have spread her legs to get this job but she's on thin ice with the Sheriff now. He's realized his mistake and she's only one fuck up away before her ass is on the curb. For good"
He stood and gave a cruel smirk to surprised look on Tamika's face, "Betcha she didn't mention that to you now did she? Disappointed to learn your dear friend isn't as wholesome as you thought?" Todd laughed but his glee was cut short when something the redhead said earlier finally processed "Holy fuck, did she cheat on you with a hobo or something?!?" his gut clenched
Is that why Emily was taking so damn long to get back to the station? Was she out having a "good time" while he and the others toiled away getting real police work done? Todd's right eye began to twitch...that stupid whore he wouldn't put it past her. You had to keep an eye on girls like that. George should have known better kept her here in the station where they could keep an eye on her...now she could be God knows where.
Just the thought of not knowing where she was or just what she was doing was driving Todd insane. He began to pace. He had to put Emily in her place before this behavior got out of hand and if she was going to fuck anybody it should be...
He slammed a fist into a set of metal lockers the left of where Tamika was sitting. The top locker on the row flew open from the blow and the place where Todd's fist connected left a nice large dent.
He had to find her. NOW.

At Todd's surprised face, Tamika let herself smirk slightly and begin to turn around to leave. She had gotten what she came for, granted with much more yelling than she wanted, but results are results. Suddenly, a strong hand grabbed her wrist and started pulling her toward a door.
"Let go of me!" she snarled and tried to pull away, though his grip was stronger than she had expected. Once through the door, Tamika had only a second to take in her surroundings, those of a typical locker, before she was thrown onto a bench. The force of the throw almost caused her to fall backwards off the bench, yet she managed to catch herself in time. As Tamika focused back on Todd, she heard the distinct click of a lock and saw him standing in front of the only exit.
"Great. Trapped in a locker room with an enraged asshole. Just what I wanted in my day." At the intelligence comment, Tamika rolled her eyes, severely doubting that anyone of any intelligence would go anywhere near him. When he leaned close to her, she glared at him while stealthily slipping her switchblade out of her pocket. The blade itself wasn't out yet, but she could easily stab him quickly if the need should arise.
"Yeah, really seeing that 'intelligence' now. All I need is give one quick st-" Her thoughts were shattered by what he told her, so much so that her shock was visible on her face.
"Emily fucked George to get her job! That doesn't excuse the fact that she seems to be a way better cop that Todd ever will be, but...wow, I would not have expected that of her."
Tamika's shock caused her to mostly ignore Todd's laughter, yet she did notice when he suddenly stopped. While she was curious what would cause his obvious glee to end so abruptly, she focused more on the opportunity his distraction gave her. Slowly and silently, Tamika began to slide closer to the door. When he paced away from the door, she held her breath.
"Now's my chance." However, just before she could leap for the door, a fist slammed into a locker behind her, dangerously close to the left side of her head. Tamika quickly glanced at the impact and her eyes widened at the dent.
"Waaay stronger than I expected." It quickly became clear that violence and running wasn't going to get her out of this locker room. Besides, despite anything she might say and the obvious damage, the cops outside were going to be more likely to take the story of a fellow cop over her's, especially if she injured him. So might as well try talking again.
"Okay, you obviously are dealing with a shit load of issues other than me right now. You've already graciously told me that you know absolutely nothing of Emily's whereabouts. I'm going to just get up and leave now, and you can go get back to your very important files."
She slowly and calmly got up and began to walk to the door, with the switchblade, though still concealed, clenched in her hand. As she reached the door, she stopped and sarcastically said,
"If you do see Emily, can you take the time to her know I came by. Maybe while your at it you can ask her to spread her legs for you as well, since an amazingly cop like you deserves it." Stupidest possible thing for her to say, yet the pissed off part of her couldn't help itself. Quickly, she undid the lock and opened the door.

Todd was so lost in his racing thoughts on Emily's current where abouts that he didn't register Tamika had made it to the door to leave until her parting sarcastic comment finally caught his attention.
"... Maybe while you're at it you can ask her to spread her legs for you as well, since an amazingly cop like you deserves it."
Todd's furious blue eyes snapped back in her direction as Tamika turned to leave. If he was angry before he was down right livid now. How DARE this tourist stand there and sass him. He was an officer of the law around here which entitled to some fucking respect.
Within two steps Todd was at the door and quickly slammed it shut again before Tamika could step through. Wasting no time he snatched Tamika's arm that held her blade and painfully twisted it behind her back to the breaking point. The switchblade concealed in her hand only moments before clattered onto the tiled floor. Todd's eyes widened momentarily upon seeing the weapon spinning at his feet. He was surprised a young girl like Tamika would be arm herself with such a peice.
Shame. It wouldn't do her any good now...
He snarled into Tamika's ear, "Watch that mouth of yours, Red, it's not very becoming on a lady." and then suddenly slammed her face first into the wall and let go. He watched with some sick satisfaction as the small woman crumpled to the ground while clutched her arm in obvious discomfort.
Todd continued his reprimand, "You should learn to respect your superiors my dear...or things like this will continue to happen I'm afraid." His tone held a note of regret, as if to imply that it was all Tamika's fault they had even come to this point. Though his tone grew darker when he added, "I also better not hear you bad mouth my girl ever again either," with a low almost inhuman growl.
It didn't matter that only moments before Todd himself was implying far worse. To pick on Emily daily, rub all her faults and failures in her face and watch her cry was his right and his alone. It was no one elses. It was cornerstone of their entire relationship thus far! Just the fact that he still wanted her despite her stealing his rightful job and everything else so fucking wrong with her as a person should have spoken volumes to her about his devotion. Unfortunately Emily was just too stupid to see that currently and insists on testing his patience with stupid stunts like playing hooky from the office.
He bent down and picked up the switch blade. He flicked it open and ran a finger over the long and sharp blade. He smiled and in a sing song voice asked, "Now what do we have here? A concealed weapon?" He shook his head, "Tsk, tsk this is a big no no here in Greenvale."
"Lucky for you Red I don't have time to write you up at the moment as a I more pressing matters to attend to." Todd snapped the blade shut and then slipped it into his back pocket, "Consider yourself lucky I'm only confiscating your blade at this time."
With another shake of his head he turned and strode out into the hallway and past his piles of papers as he had no intention of returning to his filing now that he has an AWOL officer to track down.
(I figured Todd taking Tamika's baby away would be good incentive for her to follow and try to get it back)

Tamika almost screamed when Todd grabbed her arm. Though she tried to keep hold of her switchblade, she felt it fall out of her hand just before Todd started talking again.
"Well I no one ever said I was a lady, dipshit." Tamika would have said this as well, yet Todd suddenly slammed her face into the wall. She crumpled to the floor, staying there for a few seconds before trying to get up. Her first attempt failed, her hurt arm refusing to hold her weight. Then she began to pull herself up, all the while still listening to Todd. Tamika almost smirked when he told her to show some respect, yet her amusement became annoyance as he told her not to badmouth "his girl".
"Yeah, why should I when you badmouth her more than enough as it is," she muttered as she finally managed to stand up. Tamika turned around just in time to see him bend over.
"What the hell is h-" Her eyes widened as she saw him hold the switchblade. Her switchblade. Tamika almost jumped at him right then to try and get it back, yet her brain kicked in in time to tell her that would be an unbelievably stupid idea. So all she could do was just lean against the wall and watch him snap her blade shut and slip it in is back pocket. He then shoke his head, as if she was some unruly child, and left.
Tamika closed her eyes and took a few breathes, trying to take her focus of the pain in her arm and face. The son of a bitch had stolen her switchblade, one of the few things that she had keep from her old life. Even though none of the memories connected with it were pleasant, and she had Atlas's gun to defend herself with, she felt like she HAD to get it back.
Tamika winced a little when pushing herself off the wall, her arm still sore from nearly being broken. She pushed her way through the locker room door and ran out of the building, just in time to see Todd drive away in a police car. She ran to her car and glanced at her glove compartment. She knew the gun Atlas gave her was there, fully loaded. Tamika wanted to think that she wouldn't threaten a cop, yet the soreness in her arm and face and the harsh words Todd had said made the idea of shoving the gun in his face and demanding that he return her switchblade seemed pleasant at the moment. Focusing back on the car Todd drove, Tamika pulled her car out and began to follow him at a safe distance.
"Now let's see were our dear friend Todd likes to go in his spare time."
