Time: Early Morning, Day 5 Weather: Rain Warnings: Mushiness, wet weather, skimpy dresses Characters: Atlas, Tamika
Atlas's eyes blinked open. It took a quick glance of his surroundings to realize he fell asleep on the couch. "Lovely. The great lawyer reduced to sleeping on the sofa..." he thought. However, he felt a bit more weight on him than usual, though once his thoughts registered, he realized that Tamika was sleeping on top of him as well.
He look at her and smiled. "Call it a cliche, but she seems so peaceful when she's asleep." He thought. He stroked her hair softly, enjoying it's softness to the touch. "It almost seems a shame to have to wake her up..."

Tamika's unconscious mind vaguely registered the soft pressure on her hair and she murmured in her sleep something that sounded like "I'm not a furry."
As she slowly became more awake, Tamika began to notice other things, like the fact that what she was lying on was warm and a bit lumpier than a hotel bed. For a moment, her mind was confused, until it placed that she was, in fact, not in her hotel room and was sleeping on top of someone. At this, Tamika forced herself awake and tried to move off of the person...only to roll off the couch.
She hit the floor with a yelp and looked back up to see who she had been sleeping on. To her sleepy mind's slight relief, it was Atlas that she saw. "Oh, Atlas. That's not bad, right? I don't think sleeping on people's a good idea, but he was comfy, so it's okay. I think. Maybe. I need coffee."
With a sleepy smile, Tamika said, "Good morning, Atlas. I hope you slept well," and began to pull herself off the floor.

Atlas couldn't help but chuckle at what she had mumbled in her sleep. "A furry? What, like a dog or a cat?" he wondered. However, it was the voice she had said it in that caused him to laugh a bit.
Though suddenly, whenever because of his laugh or something else, she had suddenly rolled off the couch with a yelp, startling Atlas. "Mental note: don't pet sleeping people next time..." he though after the initial shock wore off. Even she seemed to be registered her surroundings better.
"I slept alright. I would have preferred the couch, but at least you kept me nice and warm." he replied with a cheesy grin. He looked out the window briefly and suddenly, his ears registered the sound of the rain outside. "Well, so much for grocery shopping today. Gotta love living in a superstitious town. Even if some of it might be justified" he thought.
"Are you alright. You kinda just fell on the floor. I hope you slept good as well."

Tamika noticed the rain as well as she slowly got up. "Great. Going back to the hotel in the rain. I don't want to bother him, but I may want to have Atlas come with me, just in case there are any shadows out there."
Once she was on her feet, Tamika rubbed her back where it hit the floor and answered Atlas. "I'm okay. Just a bit bruised. Been worse. And I slept very well," she then blushed and added, "You made a good pillow. Though I hope I didn't crush you or anything like that." "Heh, yeah. I'm sure all 90 some odd pounds of me almost crushed poor Atlas to death in his sleep."
She then glanced around the room sleepily, as if looking for something. After a few seconds, Tamika asked, "Um, where's your kitchen? Not to be rude or a freeloader or whatever, but I would be very thankful for any coffee you have."

"I'm glad" Atlas replied, rubbing the back of his head. "If you ever need someone for your nighttime pillow needs, you know where to look." he added. "I don't think someone as light as her could crush me though. Though some people I've seen recently....let's not go there..."
He still stretched out a bit and blinked his eyes a couple times before hearing Tamika's question. "Sure, of course I have some coffee." he replied. However, the first part of her sentence concerned him a bit, though he tried not to show it much. "No, of course you're not freeloaded. I'm more than happy to share coffee with guests, and especially with you. After all, you are my girlfriend." he added, and then turned into the kitchen to get some coffee.
As he brewed it, he thought about what she said earlier. "Odd she would think that she'd be freeloading if she asked for coffee. I figured it would be a normal thing to ask. How badly did she have it before?" he wondered. Between his musing, he called out "How do you like you coffee?" before proceeding to serve it. Last time he put half and half instead of milk in a client's coffee, he nearly got third degree burns on his face.

Tamika blushed a bit more and muttered "Thanks Atlas," at his statement. She didn't really think that she should use people as pillows, though he did make a pretty good pillow. And he didn't seem to mind. "Maybe I should take him up on his offer."
As Atlas left to get her coffee, Tamika mentally face palmed. "Okay, you're sleepy, but did you have to be so stupid? Asking for coffee is not on the same level as asking to live with him. And, as he said, you're his damn girlfriend. Stop worrying about shit, get your coffee, and WAKE UP!"
When he asked how she wanted her coffee, Tamika replied, "Oh, I don't really care. Just as long as it's drinkable," and slowly made her way over to where the coffee was. Once she got there, Tamika gratefully took her coffee and sipped it. "Thanks Atlas. I'm sadly not much of a morning person and this is the only way I can actually wake up."
After sipping her coffee for a bit, she asked Atlas, "So, do you have any plans for today?"

Atlas had opted to put a little sugar in her coffee. It wasn't the best blend money could buy and he had felt that it could use a bit more flavor. Either way, she had clearly needed the coffee. "Not a morning person, huh? I'll have to keep that in mind..."
When she had her coffee, he led her out into the living room to sit on the couch. He had sipped his coffee while looking at the rain and listening to Tamika talk. What did he have planned today? Rain would normally mean shopping on a day off anywhere else, but even that wasn't possible here. "To be honest, Tamika, there isn't really much I can do today. Almost everywhere is closed and I'd prefer to avoid Greenvale Forest Park for awhile." He said, moving a hand to casually stroke her hair
"What about you?"

Tamika relaxed a bit as Atlas stroked her hair, and even found herself leaning a bit closer to him. At his response, she nodded and said, "I understand. I sometimes forget that everything closes when it rains. I guess it makes sense when you think about the shadows and dogs, though I wonder why people who can't see either still don't go out in the rain."
"Anyway, as for me, I don't really have any plans either. I'll be heading back to the hotel of course to get some clothes and to check on Brad, but besides that, I've got nothing."
Brad. As much as she had disliked him for molesting her in the graveyard, she found that she couldn't completely hate him. He still had been very nice to her before that, and had made her genuinely happy. "Ugh, I don't know what to think about him. But I guess that doesn't really matter much. Whether he is a really nice, yet crazy, guy or someone who just wants to grab my ass and boobs he is still the guy that's paying my bills. And that means I should at least try to work with him and not glare daggers at him. Besides, at least he's not Agent Morgan." Thinking about the extremely bothersome agent made her shudder a tiny bit, though any appearance of discomfort quickly disappeared as Atlas stroked her hair.

Atlas smiles a bit as Tamika leaned against him. Her closeness to him caused his cheeks to redden up a bit as he stroked her hair. As she talked, he though about why the town closes when it rains. Even with the shadows and the Fenrir's third cousin, some things didn't add up.
"I'm not exactly sure. I've only been here a year and I'm still not sure. Still, there has to be a reason. Though the only thing I can thing of was they had a really bad flood one year, though I'm sure I'd hear about that by now..."
Atlas moved his arm down around his girlfriend to stroke her shoulder. "Hmm, do you mind if I come with you to check on Brad. I've got nothing better to do today and technically, I'm closed today too." he replied and took a sip of his coffee.
"Well, at least it's better than another day of watching reruns and DVDs. Plus, I can't argue against spending more time with Tamika." he thought as he stroked her shoulder. "I wonder how that crazy guy is doing anyway."

"No one has mentioned a flood to me either, though I suppose with all the rain and the lake right next to the town, a giant flood could have happened. It's probably nothing important, but maybe at some point, one of us can ask someone about it."
Tamika relaxed even more and smiled a bit as Atlas stroked her shoulder. "No, I don't mind. Besides, if he has anymore theories about why this town has shadows and demon hounds then it would be easier if both of us were there to hear it."
After resting against Atlas for a bit, Tamika got up from the couch. "Well, we better get going. Though, I should probably change back into my dress first." "And those God damn shoes too." She then grabbed her dress and shoes and headed into the bathroom to change.

"Hmm, what about that woman you work for, Polly? She seems like she's seen enough in her lifetime to fill in some gaps." Atlas inquired. "Though I at least hope she'd be able to recall it..."
After a bit, Tamika got up from the couch. As much as he enjoyed it, he couldn't spend the entire morning cuddling with her. "Yeah, I should change as well." he replied, heading off upstairs.
After cleaning up in the bathroom, he went to his closet to grab his clothes. He pulled out a pair of tan khaki pants, a navy blue dress shirt and a red and black striped tie. Along with a few other articles of clothing, he had managed to get dressed in less than five minutes and emerge from his to meet Tamika downstairs to see her goodbye...

Tamika emerged from the bathroom at around the same time Atlas returned back downstairs. She was back in her short, shiny silver dress and, to her annoyance, her torturous shoes. Her face was slightly damp from splashing some cold water in her face to help her wake up, and her hair looked a bit neat from hand combing it. In her arms were the clothes Atlas had loaned her. Tamika handed the clothes to Atlas and said with a smile, "Thanks for loaning me these. I'm sure they were more comfortable to sleep in than this dress would have been."
After this, she started to head to the door, stopped, and then went to the table and grabbed a gun. "I don't like the idea of having one, but it's better to have one and not need it than to not have one and need it, right?" Tamika checked to make sure it was loaded and then headed to the door, with the firearm held loosely in her right hand. Once she reached the door, she turned back to Atlas, with an expression that looked sort of sad for an unknown reason. "Ready to go, Atlas? Or do you wish to get a coat or umbrella first?"
