Time: Day 4, Early Morning Weather: Cloudy Warnings: Hangovers, Depression, and Tamika still being confused Characters: Tamika Weir, Atticus "Atlas" Lasseter, Dr. Bradley Karrde Smith
The rest of the drive to Atlas's house was quiet, with neither of them really talking much. Once Tamika finally pulled into Atlas's driveway, she finally spoke again saying, "I'll go get Atlas. He's probably feeling like shit this morning, so it might take a bit to get him out here. You can wait in the car." With that, Tamika climbed out of the car and headed for the front door. Once she got there, she rang the doorbell, hoping that Atlas would be well enough to see Brian.

Atlas had risen awhile ago feeling like crap. His throat was dry, his stomach was in pain, his body ached all over and his head was killing him. "Ohh, I think I had a little too many last night." he thought.
Atlas was sitting at his computer checking his mail. Somehow, he was able to write a blog post about last night's dream as well as put on a dress shirt, tie and slacks. He was quietly sipping a coffee when he head the doorbell. He tried to remember who is was, but still groggily shuffled towards the door. He opened it to reveal Tamika.
"Hey." he said weakly.

"Hey Atlas, are you feeling alright?" Tamika asked kindly. Then she realized how stupid a question that was. "He was freaking drunk last night. OF COURSE he feels like crap!" "Er, what I meant was, do you feel alright enough to see Brian today? I know you wanted to see him, but I also know you got pretty drunk last night. So if you would rather stay home, Brad and I could see Brian today and you could see him some other time."

Atlas looked at Tamika, nodding a little. "I'll be honest with you. I feel like a gorilla picked me up, threw me at a brick wall, and then knocked it down on top of me." he replied. "Though I'll still go. I did promise to see Brian with you. Though I'd rather you drive. I still need some time for the pain to go away." he added.

Tamika nodded, "Alright. You'll have to climb in back, since I'm giving Brad a lift as well." With a smile, she added," Just make sure not to throw up." Then Tamika turned and headed back to the car.

"I'll try not to. I'm feeling a little bit better than I was when I woke up." Atlas replied groggily as he slumped towards her car. "If I do, I'll at least try to do it out the window." he added.
He got into the backseat of the car. He tried to position his feet around an old blanket and first aid kit. "We'll want to stop by my car first. I have that bone that might belong to Brian." he spoke up.

"Yeah, okay." Tamika pulled her car out of Atlas's driveway. "Oh and if you smell cigarettes, it's York's fault. Just open a window if it bothers you."
Continuing down the road, Tamika decided to break the silence and ask, "So Atlas, did you have any nightmares last night?"

She's asking about nightmares? I wonder if it's a side-effect of being able to see the Shadows. If so, does Tamika have them too?
"Nightmares? Do you have nightmares often, Atticus?" Brad asked.

"I think so..." Atlas responded to Tamika. "But I don't remember much before I woke up this morning. I hope I didn't do anything too stupid last night." he added. He decided to open a window. He could use some fresh air in his system to keep his stomach settled.
Groggily, he turned to Karrde. "Actually, I haven't had too many nightmares. I've definitely had some when I was younger, though nothing as relevant to my life as the one I had yesterday..."

"That sucks. Nightmares are bad enough, but they're really bad when they remind you of crap in your past." Tamika turned a corner and then added with a smile, "And unless you call saving my ass and giving me a hug stupid, then no, not really. You're actually probably one of the most pleasant drunks I've ever met." "Well, okay. He also taunted shadows and turned my car into a therapy couch, but he was still WAY better than...him. A million times better."
The smile she had had faded, and Tamika was silent for a few moments, apparently lost in thought. Then she glanced at Brad and asked, "What about you Brad? Any interesting dreams?"

"Interesting dreams?"
Brad appeared to disappear into thought on this one, mulling it over and over in his mind. "Well, I once dreamt I was a potato. Or was it a yam? I'm fairly certain it was some member of the tuber family." A contemplative look crossed his face, as if thinking about which it was. "Anyways, I was in grave danger from the White Rabbit out of Alice in Wonderland. He was about to start digging me up when he was knifed by Alice from those Resident Evil movies. Then she skinned him and wore him as a makeshift hat. That's about the most interesting dream I can remember. What about you, Tamika?"

Tamika drove silently for several moments after Brad finished his retelling of his...interesting...dream, her face covered in confusion. When it seemed like she wasn't going to answer, Tamika finally said, "Well I have never had any as...interesting as that. There was one strange one I had as a little kid."
Stopping at a stoplight, Tamika began, "In it, I was in my room. It all seemed pretty normal at first. There were no monsters hiding under my bed, or strange figures standing in the corners; just my empty room."
The light turned green and Tamika drove through the intersection while continuing, "Then I tried to sing something. A shard of glass then suddenly came out of my wall and stabbed my arm. I was shocked and tried to sing again. Same thing happened. Every time I tried to sing, something would come and stab me. After a while, I was covered in cuts, and fell to the floor in pain, unable to sing."
She paused for a few seconds and then said, "Then a bird somewhere outside my window began singing something. I can't remember exactly what the song was, but I remember at the time thinking it was beautiful. The bird then perched on my windowsill and kept singing. While it sang, all the cuts I had gotten seemed to disappear. Then I woke up."
Tamika turned into the SWERY65 parking lot and finished, "The strangest part is that, after I woke up, there was a similar bird sitting on my windowsill. It immediately flew away of course. I'm not sure if the dream meant anything, but it was strange enough for my to remember."
Parking her car, she turned back to Atlas and said, "Alright Atlas, go grab your bone so we can head to the graveyard."

Atlas pondered the odd dream that Tamika had. It had started off as a nightmare, but then suddenly...it became better. In his experience, nightmares started off bad, or even pretending to be good, but then gets worse from there. At least having some sort of respite at the end of yesterday's nightmare would have been nice...
"Do you think that the bird in real life caused the bird in the dream, or..." he thought. "No...I'm thinking too hard."
When the car stopped in the SWERY 65 parking lot, Atlas shuffled out to his car. Despite the combat the night before, his car was in perfect shape, not that he remembered that anything happened. He fished around in the bed of the truck until he found the bone, still covered with a purplish liquid from Barghest Jr. He returned to the car holding onto the bone.
"Uhh, I'm still not all there, so do you mind if I close my eyes for a bit. Wake me when we get there." Atlas asked Tamika as he leaned back in the car seat.

Brad turned the dream that Tamika described over and over in his head. He'd had a few years of pyschology during his long, long tenure in college and had certainly spent his fair share of time with dream interpretation. Well, I know that she enjoys singing quite a bit, and whenever she sang in her room, she was caused pain. But a bird outside her room was able to sing fine and cured her pain. Fear of entrapment? Has she felt imprisioned before? Could she have been a runaway?
When Atlas left the car, Brad spung the question on Tamika "Tamika, you don't have to answer this question, but did you run away from home?"

Tamika stared at Brad in shock after he asked her. "God damnit! Am I really that easy to figure out?!?" After a few seconds, she turned away from him and asked in a slightly startled voice, "What would make you think that I had, Brad?"
Once Atlas was once again seated in the back of her car, she said, "Nah, go ahead and get some rest. You can use the blanket back there if you want." Then she pulled her car out of the SWERY65 parking lot and drove it down the road toward the graveyard, looking a bit nervous.
