Emily gave little laugh, "Well it's only going to be wetter tomorrow Atlas. This rain isn't going to let up for at least another day. I really don't mind going now. I do have some high power flashlights in my car so the darkness will not be a problem."
She drowned the last bit of her beer and added with a small nervous smile, "Also, if we go now I won't have to bother the Sheriff tomorrow morning about it..."

"Well, the thing is..." Atlas started to talk. He wanted to say that there was probably a horde of limbo zombies that only he and Tamika and maybe a few others could see outside as well as a giant homicidal dog. And the rain would only make the visibility even worse. However, he also wasn't sure whether or not Emily had any mental institutions on speed dial.
"Screw it, if things go south, I at least have a car I can use. Besides, every moment I waste is another moment Tamika is suffering..." "Umm, sure I guess. Maybe we'll get lucky." Atlas replied, still feeling nervous...

Emily signaled for the check gave Atlas a questioning look. The man looked jumpy and not at all eager to start the search for his missing girlfriend. "You don't look like you really want to go tonight."
Is he afraid of the dark and too embarrassed to say so?
She reached over and patted Atlas' hand, "Don't worry you are safe with me in the dark. I doubt anyone would want to cross a Greenvale Deputy who's cranky and packing!" Emily winked and stood. "I can go by myself and take a look around and we can still meet early tomorrow if you prefer..."

Atlas started to jump in nervously. "No, no, no, not at all. I want to look for her right now. I don't want her to be in anymore danger. I...I.....wouldn't ever forgive myself if something bad happened to her." he quickly responded. "I have to go. Tamika could be dead when I wake up tomorrow. I have to find her. I have to." he kept mentally saying to himself.
"I'm going with you Emily, and that's final. Tamika is more important to me than anything right now. I don't care what lies in the dark!" He stood up, putting on a brave face. "What the hell am I saying. What if that dog is out there? The only reason I outran it last time was because I had the trees for cover. He'll be able to catch me here in no time." He thought. If worse came to worse, at least the gun shop was nearby though...
