When Atlas kissed Tamika, he noticed that she hesitated a bit, causing Atlas to worry a bit. "But, I thought you'd like this..." he thought. However, she had slightly kissed him back, slightly easing his nerves. Still, he wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything wrong with it.
"Uhh, so that first kiss....how was it?" Atlas stammered a bit, taking her hands in his. "Great...you can easily speak when on the spot during a cross-examination, but can't form a complete sentence around the girl you love. This is starting to turn into a bad romantic comedy..."

Tamika sighed. "Of course he was going to notice and be at least somewhat concerned." She wondered a bit if this was her first kiss or if the time with her old boss counted. "No, that doesn't count. He forced you to kiss him. Although, didn't Atlas technically force you to kiss him...No, you kissed him back so this would be your first kiss...right?" She replied after a few moments, "If you're asking because I didn't seem to like it, that's not it. I did like it." "Well, sort of. I didn't freak out and accidentally punch him in the face. That's something, right?"
"It's just..." She paused. Tamika didn't want to have to explain her old boss to Atlas, knowing that that would be like dumping a can of worms and guts on a beautiful picture. "I've had some bad experiences before with guys." "That sounded a bit dumb. Bleh, maybe he'll accept that. And maybe I'm a cat."
Tamika then looked down at the floor, feeling embarrassed and a bit sad. "Damn, damn, shit, fuck, damn!" "I'm sorry, Atlas," she said quietly.

"For someone who liked it, you seemed a bit apprehensive." Atlas thought. Still, it was a relief that Tamika hadn't struck him for it. However, he still felt guilty for putting her in an uncomfortable position.
"Good work, Atlas, you have to make her remember her past bad experiences." He thought, kicking himself mentally. He knew where she was coming from: however, his own bad experiences tended to stem from women. He himself was genuinely surprised he worked up the nerve to kiss her. "Male hormones. Gotta love 'em..."
Seeing her down like this also depressed Atlas as well. Before, she was starting to smile and feel relaxed and now she felt guilty about ruining the moment.
"No, no, no. It was my fault for moving too fast with you. I thought maybe you would like that, but it seems I threw you off a bit...Umm, I won't do it again if you want." he replied, sounding nervous. "Cmon, you love her, she loves you, why are you nervous." he tried to mentally beat himself.

Tamika was sad to see that her words only succeeded in making Atlas depressed. "Great, now I made him depressed. Why can't life have an undo button?"She struggled to think of something to say to make him feel better. "No, it's just my own issues giving me problems. You did nothing wrong. I knee jerked and I'm sorry for making you feel bad because of it."
She was also sad to hear that Atlas thought she wouldn't want him to kiss her ever again. "Nooo, that's not what I want." Tamika wanted to just tell him that, yet she felt that he would just not believe her and beat himself more. "Only one thing to do...here goes..." She then moved her legs so she was kneeling on his couch so she could bring her face near his. "Atlas, I don't want you to not kiss me." Tamika then gently wrapped her arms around him and kissed him.

Atlas didn't like this series of misunderstandings occurring. "Nooo, it's not your fault. I've been too forward tonight..." he thought, looking a bit depressed.
However, Tamika then did some unexpected: she had gotten closer to him and said that she hadn't wanted him to not kiss her. Then she had wrapped her arms around him and kiss him.
Though a bit surprised, Atlas wrapped his own arms around her and kissed her back. It felt much better this time, with Tamika not seeming tense. He rubbed her back softly while kissing her with one hand and stroked the back of her head with the other.
He had kissed her for about a minute before breaking off to speak to her. "...Thanks, Tamika. I don't know what I was thinking. That was great." He added and held her tightly against him. After a bit, he turned his head to whisper in her ear. "I love you, Tamika..."

This kiss felt much better than the first one. Mostly because her brain wasn't screaming at her to run. Tamika was still nervous, yet this was because she had never done anything like this before. She blushed while kissing him and blushed even more when he started stroking her back and head. It all felt so good, a part of her wished that the moment would never end and. Yet, of course, after about a minute, Atlas broke off this kiss to speak to her, leaving her with a red face and a smile on her lips.
Tamika's smile grew at his words and she rested her head on Atlas's shoulder when he held her against him. When he whispered to her she replied quietly, "I love you too, Atlas," and held him a bit tighter as she sat on the couch with his arms still around her. "My life is finally gone right."
