DJRed has a point. Just because I use Greenweb blogs doesn't mean I'm actually from Greenvale. For all you know, I could be from Kazakhstan and just happen to like the setup of Greenweb. It also says even less about my readers. They could be from any where. Perhaps I was a little hasty for assuming your gender, but that doesn't mean your own presumptions are any more correct. The blind leading the blind indeed, Ashes. So long, Ashes. You will not be missed.

From previous experience, I have to say that the best methods for dealing with disturbances such as the ones you people are describing are the most simple. Almost anything you can do to prepare for, say, an upcoming university exam, can be applied just as usefully to a so-called paranormal encounter: A good night's sleep, brain food (fish and coffee beans, for example), and plenty of ammunition. Again, this is on the basis of personal trial and error, so feel free to take what I say with a grain of mustard. Of course, I speak only of the lesser beings you may have come across... There are far more harrowing phenomena out there than can possibly be reckoned for by a handful of shotguns and the anonymous advice of an online stranger. This isn't as simple as in the movie Ghostbusters after all; we can't just cross streams and expect these problems to solve themselves. Though I will say, I'm rather pleased to find evidence of individuals not afraid to share what they've learned, despite what the skeptics might think. @cipher: Rock salt is also useful when making homemade ice-cream, so I hear. Unfortunately ice-cream, especially consumed in large quantities, is not particularly helpful in anticipation of a difficult undertaking, supernatural or otherwise. Something I learned the hard way.

You're saying that someone shot at you in the park, and you're blaming ghosts and goblins? Don't you think that it's a little bit more likely that there's a human behind it? You're going to let real psychos get away because you're falling for tricks and pinning the blame on imaginary monsters. Don't underestimate humankind's capacity to be horrible.

I know perfectly well how horrible mankind can be. I've experienced firsthand some of the terrible shit this world has in it. I would in no way doubt that some hunter drunk off his ass or some cruel bastard would go into the woods and shoot a guy. That said, I still believe GreyMockingbird because I have seen these shadows as well, as unlikely as their existence might be. The true answer is not always the most likely one.
