Time: Day 1, Late Afternoon/Early Evening Weather: Overcast Warnings: None Characters: Charlotte Jacobs
Charlotte closed the door carefully behind her, leaning against it for a moment. What a train wreck of a day... With a sigh she pushed herself away from the door, and tossed her hotel key on the desk. Setting the ice bucket full of ice down beside it, she limped into the bathroom to grab a hand towel.
She paused a moment in front of the bathroom mirror and laughed. She might have gotten the twig out of her hair... but there were still a smattering of leaves stuck in it. Including a leaf or two from one of the red trees, oddly enough. Strange... She hadn’t gone near any of those trees. Well, leaves do blow around. Shaking her head, Charlotte quickly plucked the offending leaves out and dropped them in the trash can. Then she grabbed the hand towel she’d been looking for and returned to the other room.
She sat down on the bed and began carefully wriggling out of her jeans, hissing at the pain. This is one impressive fucking bruise, she thought, eyeballing the damage done. It was already darkening to a deep purple, and distinctly camera shaped. Kicking off the jeans and leaving them pooled on the floor, she quickly wrapped up a few ice cubes in the hand towel and pressed it against her hip.
“Fuck that’s cold!” She didn’t remove the ice pack, though. It might have been cold as hell, but it felt great (after the initial shock). Instead she relaxed back on the bed, one hand keeping the ice pace firmly affixed to the bruise.
I think it’s time for pool and beer. Scratch that, it’s DEFINITELY time for pool and beer.
