Time: Day 3, afternoon Weather: Cloudy Warnings: None Characters: Kevin Ashcroft [OPEN]
Kevin managed to get to the hotel a lot later than he had planned, it would probably be wise to get a room and unpack his stuff first, and go sightseeing around the town later. He had no close friends left here, but there were few people he wanted to see again while he was in Greenvale.
The hotel looked just like he remembered it; he was surprised that the owner lady was able to keep such a huge building in a good shape all by herself. Then again, many things were surprising in this place.
As he entered the building, he looked around the well kept room, suddenly finding himself scanning for something useful to grab, he could always use some money, but stealing from an old lady was too much for him, and it’s not like he noticed anything very valuable either. He was planning to raid the town at night. He knew that people didn’t go out much at night, and practically everything closed down pretty early. He also remembered his parents didn’t let him go out while it was raining; it was quite strange, now that he thought of it, but maybe he could use it for his advantage, considering many people in Greenvale acted the same way.
Kevin decided to look around the place a bit, he was sure the owner lady wouldn’t mind, plus, maybe he’d run into something more useful than plants and old photos.
He walked around the first floor a bit, but didn’t find anything of interest, so he took out his laptop from one of the bags, sitting down at the nearest table and browsing thought some of the files.

Tamika stalked into the hotel lobby looking quite exhausted. She didn't notice the blue haired newcomer at first and slid into chair relatively near his. Putting her head in her hands, she tried to forget how majorly she screwed up this morning. "Why do I have to suck? First day trying to get information with Atlas and I almost wrecked everything. Why did I even think that going with him was a good idea?"
"Fuck..." Tamika muttered into her hands. It was now that she became aware of the presence near her. She lifted her head out of her hands and glanced over at the strange man. "Trying to use a laptop. Poor fool." "If you're trying to get internet, don't expect much. The connection here is unreliable at best."

Kevin had been browsing his files for a while now. He had a lot of stuff to sort out and a lot of stuff to get rid of, just in case… There was no internet connection at all and it was kind of irritating, Kevin hated staying somewhere without internet, he needed it quite often and spent a lot of time there, even when he didn’t have to. “Maybe I can get some connection in town. I swear, I’m totally leaving, if I don’t.”
“Eh?” Kevin was suddenly brought back to reality as he heard the girl speak. He looked over at her, obviously checking her out, as he got up from his chair. The girl didn’t look like an average female Greenvale resident, that’s for sure. “Well then, maybe you could tell me where I can get a better connection, cutie.” Kevin gave her a charming smile as he walked up closer to her.

"Great. I just keep on opening cans of worms, don't I?" she thought irritably as the blue haired guy moved closer to her. Tamika closed her eyes, pretending to think hard while pulling her switchblade out of her pocket. She then began twirling the small knife around her fingers. After a few seconds, the knife slowed and Tamika shook her head. "Sorry, nowhere leaps to mind. But I'm a bit new here, so maybe there's a secret wifi hotspot that I haven't found yet."
Putting her switchblade back in her pocket, she asked, "So, do you have a name? Or would you prefer I call you That Guy with the Blue Hair?"

Kevin didn’t pay much attention to the knife; he was used to people twirling weapons before him for different reasons, or with no reason at all. “If it was some sort of warning to keep my distance, it failed sweetheart.” he thought, smiling slightly.
“I’m Kevin, Kevin Ashcroft, but, the blue haired guy doesn’t sound bad either.” He shrugged, looking at the girl thoughtfully. “What about you, can I give you a cute nickname too?” He smirked, sitting down near her.

Tamika rolled her eyes, "As curious as I am to hear the cute nickname, just call me Tamika." He appeared completely undeterred from her knife, which annoyed Tamika. "First I piss a rich guy's servant off. Then I meet a perv that's immune or ignorant to threats. Lovely day today's been." Tamika didn't move, but she sounded more irritated as she asked, "Look, do you need something?"

Polly had just about finished up her chores for the afternoon. There was a toilet in one of the guest rooms that was giving her particular trouble. She had unclogged it for now, but she was pretty sure she was going to have to call a plumber. Such an inconvenience.
She poked her head into the lobby to find a young man with bright blue hair--what was with the young people in this town and their unusual hair colors?--cozying up to Tamika. Her eyes began to sparkle and she quietly moved to the girl's side. "Is this that young man of yours?" she whispered, not nearly as quietly as she thought. "He's certainly a looker. Should I leave you two alone?" She smiled at Tamika's apparent beau.

Kevin’s smirk widened as he overheard Polly’s words, he was probably pissing Tamika off more than he should have, but really, what was the worst she could do?
He turned to Polly, trying to seem as polite as he could. “Good day, I’m glad to see this lovely hotel never lost its charm over the years, it’s amazing how you manage to keep everything running so smoothly all by yourself, and I do hope you have some free rooms left, I wouldn’t want to be too far away from my dear Tamika.” He sighted quietly as if he was truly concerned about this. “Of course, I could move into her room, but that would be kind of inappropriate, since we are not married yet, don’t you agree, Tamika?” Kevin tried not to laugh as he spoke, looking over at Tamika and waiting for her reaction.

"What?" Tamika's eyes widened at the strange question Polly asked her. "What? What the hell are you talking about Polly? I don't have a boyfriend," she hissed at the older woman. Polly's words appeared to have also encouraged the perv on, which pissed off and embarrassed Tamika. Blushing and still looking shocked, she slid as far from Kevin as she could without falling out of her chair. "I don't know what the hell your smoking, but I'm not marrying you! I don't even know you!"

The commotion immediately caught Brad's attention as he entered the lobby. He had managed to grab a few hours sleep since checking in this morning, but now it was time to get out and explore. First place on the list, the graveyard that Polly had mentioned. The question as to why people had been congregating there burned inside him.
The sudden rustle of a chair turned Brad's attention to what was going on and his mind shifted into overdrive. The girl...apparently single. Short, 5' 0"...5'4" with her boots. The bright red hair is most likely dyed. I'd wager the true color isn't even red, given the lack of freckles. Can't make out the eye or eyebrow color from here. Having some sort of altercation with the blue-haired fellow. Given the outburst, I'd guess he made an undesired pass.
Continuing heading for the door, Brad continued his analysis, focusing now on what he could make of the blue-haired boy. Again, dyed hair. Can't tell his height because of how he's sitting. Computer user. Heavy wear marks on his laptop cover from frequently opening and closing it. Works mobile, not professional though. Hmm...
Whatever the spat was, Brad had other plans. He opened the hotel door and stepped out into the dreary afternoon weather.

Polly was quite confused now. First this strange blue-haired person professes his love for Tamika, then Tamika denies all knowledge of him, but still seems so...embarrassed. What on earth was going on in here? She hissed back at Tamika. "You mean this isn't your Brian? Who is this, then?" She looked at him and smiled politely. "You know, he's not half bad looking. Maybe you should take him out for lunch anyway," she whispered again, nudging Tamika with her elbow.

Tamika’s reaction actually made Kevin giggle. “Don’t be so tense, I was just kidding, you really are kinda cute thought, I’m busy today, but maybe we should get to know each other better some other time.” He smirked, looking at the girl playfully. He had some plans for the upcoming night; he noticed some closed stores which still had some stuff in them, and he could always practice a bit.
Kevin turned to Polly, giving her a sweet smile. “I’d like a room please, if you have any available. I’ll be staying for a while.”

"Ugh, can I go to sleep now?" All the stress from today had seriously worn out Tamika. Her brain felt fried and she just wanted to go get some sleep. She rubbed her temples and sighed.
"Maybe," she said tiredly. Turning to Polly, she realized she had ignored her question. "Meh, she'll figure it out soon enough."
"Polly, if you don't need help with anything, I'm going to go to my room." She decided to wait for Polly's response before leaving. Tamika didn't feel quite so much urgency to leave since she decided that Kevin was not as bad as she first thought. This may have relieved her, but all her mind could focus on was sleep and hiding her shame.

"That's fine, Tamika. I was thinking of going out for a while myself," Polly replied. "Long day?"
Polly pushed the register toward Kevin as she spoke, and reached around for a room key. "You must be new in town, then? Welcome to Greenvale! I hope you enjoy your stay." She paused in the middle of holding out the key. "Um, I should mention that we only have non-smoking rooms. I hope that's not a problem. Here we go, Room 207." She smiled. "Would you like me to show you where it is, or are you busy with something?"
